Revisiting Kwame Brown's Career Best Game

With the MJ documentary in the books and the streets glowing, ranting, and raving with the best possible reviews, no one even mentioned his best move. How can that be, you may ask...how can the so called best move of his career not have been mentioned in a 10 hour documentary in which he had creative control? How can a documentary in which Jordan came out looking like the hero no matter what, have left out this major part of his career?

I'll let you in on some trade secrets I picked up over the years, running in NBA circles and such. There are those who believe this move came from an out of wedlock affair and thus Jordan refuses to mention it, no matter the circumstances. Believe what you will, i'd have no reason to lie to you though.

On June 27, 2001, Michael Jordan made the franchise altering decision to draft Kwame Brown straight out of high school, as the 1st overall pick. Largely due to the fact that he wore the number FIVE as a CENTER, many have written him out of the history books and fast forwarded past his stint amongst the leagues dominant big men.

On March 17th, 2004, in the midst of his prime mindst you...Kwame put up a MAMMOTH 30 POINT 19 REBOUND, domination of a performance, as his Wizards beat a Kings team...A Kings team with Finals aspirations who had taken the Lakers all the way to a Game 7 in years prior. He was at the height of his powers, a man ready to showcase his dominance to the league for years to come. Beating powerhouses from coast to coast, the Pick n Roll between him and Gilbert Arenas was ready to set the NBA ablaze. There was a brief moment in time where Stephen A and Skip were debating if the league had found their next Penny & Shaq.

From that point on, Kwame never averaged more than 8.4 PPG again. What happened that fateful night in California's Capitol has never been truly discovered or much less explained. Will we ever find out the real reasoning behind this mysterious cliffdive or will it rest, in the laurels of NBA legend as just another unsolved tragedy?
